The life of J K Rowling is an apt example for us to rise above from failure and poverty to reach greater heights in life.Her Harry Potter books became a huge hit worldwide making it the best selling book series in the history.
But before she broke all these records she had her shares of miseries and failures.
The idea of the Potter series occurred to her on a delayed train from Manchester to London in 1990.Post that a seven-year period that followed saw the death of her mother, divorce from her first husband and relative poverty until Rowling finished the first novel in 1997.
The first draft of the novel was rejected by 12 publishing houses.But then Bloomsbury agreed to publish the book.Later she progressed from living on state welfare to being a billionaire.
Here are few life lessons from her life that no one should ignore.
“There is an expiry date on blaming your parents
for steering you in the wrong direction;
the moment you are old enough to take the wheel, responsibility lies with you.”
‘I would like to be remembered as someone who
did the best she could with the talent she had.’
